How FunThru — operated by Sun Technology Services SPC — collects, uses, and protects information when you connect your tools and accounts (like Outlook, SharePoint, Power BI, Gmail, or WhatsApp) to run automations you configure.
FunThru is an automation platform built by Sun Technology Services SPC ("Sun Technology Services," "we," "us"). FunThru lets an organisation or an individual connect tools they already use — such as Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, and Power BI; Google Gmail; and WhatsApp Business — so they can configure automations (for example, filing an email attachment, drafting a reply, or routing a WhatsApp message to the right person).
This policy explains what information FunThru accesses when you connect an account, what we do with it, and the choices you have. It applies to every FunThru customer and to anyone whose messages or files pass through an automation a FunThru customer has configured.
When you or your organization sign up, we collect basic details needed to operate your FunThru workspace: your name, email address, and (if you sign up for an organisation) its name, and the automations you configure.
When you connect a third-party account, FunThru accesses only the data needed to run the specific automations you set up — for example, the content of an email your automation is configured to act on, a file in a SharePoint site your admin has explicitly shared with FunThru, or the text of a WhatsApp message sent to a number you've connected. FunThru reads the connected data needed to run the automations you set up and the requests you make in your workspace — for example, checking new messages in a connected mailbox against your automation's trigger. It does not use that data for any other purpose.
We keep operational logs — timestamps, which automation or request ran, whether it succeeded, and short excerpts needed to troubleshoot it — to keep the service reliable and to let you audit what your automations have done. Logs are retained for a limited period and are not used for any other purpose.
FunThru only requests the specific permissions ("scopes") each connected automation needs, and every connection can be reviewed or removed by you (or your organisation's administrator) at any time from the provider's own account settings and from FunThru.
| Provider | What can be connected | Typical use in an automation |
|---|---|---|
| Microsoft 365 | Outlook mail (read/draft), SharePoint sites an admin selects, Power BI reports and datasets an admin selects | Reading a mail an automation is triggered by; preparing (never auto-sending) a draft reply; pulling a report your automation was built to summarize |
| Google (Gmail) | Gmail mailbox | Same pattern as Outlook — reading trigger mail, preparing drafts |
| WhatsApp Business | Messages sent to a WhatsApp Business number you've connected | Routing an incoming message to the right person, or sending a reply you have configured and approved |
FunThru's own automations never send an email or a WhatsApp message on your behalf without your explicit configuration allowing it, and by default prepare drafts for a person to review rather than sending automatically.
When you connect WhatsApp Business, we receive your WhatsApp Business Account ID, phone number ID, business display name and the access token Meta issues, and we use them only to send and receive messages for your automations. FunThru also processes the phone numbers and message content of people who message the connected number, on your behalf.
We do not sell your information or your connected accounts' content, and we do not use it for advertising.
We retain connected-account content only as long as needed to run the automation it supports and for troubleshooting and audit. When you disconnect a provider account, FunThru stops accessing it; revoking FunThru's access in Microsoft, Google or Meta's own settings takes effect immediately. You can ask us at any time to delete the access credentials and the content we hold for your workspace — see our Data Deletion page.
You can request deletion of your workspace and associated data at any time by contacting us — see Section 12.
Access credentials for connected accounts are stored in an encrypted credential store, not in plain text, and are never entered or viewed by a person as part of routine operations. Access to production systems is limited to the personnel who need it to operate the service. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we work to improve these protections as FunThru grows.
